I have been sentenced to hang on the gallows. I can do two things. I can spare my life by confessing to practicing witchcraft. But if I confess I will not be worth the dust on the feet of those who have already been hung on the gallows. Or I can hang. I have signed the confession papers and now decide what to do with them. Should I surrender to these dogs that call themselves men and reduce myself to dirt? Or shall I retain my honor and hang so that I will be worthy of those who have hung before me and join my lord in heaven.
